ALBANY, NY (Dec. 5, 2017) – The Upstate New York personal injury law firm of Powers & Santola, LLP, announced today that attorney Laura Jordan has been appointed to serve as the Chairperson of the Committee on Character and Fitness for the Third Judicial District.
Jordan, a partner in the law firm, was appointed to chair the Committee by the Justices of the State of New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Judicial Department.
The Committee on Character and Fitness is charged with evaluating the character and fitness of applicants for admission to the bar in New York. It consists of practicing attorneys, who are appointed by the Supreme Court.
New York’s Third Judicial District covers the counties of Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster.
Jordan’s legal practice at Powers & Santola focuses on serious and catastrophic injury cases, with a particular concentration on medical malpractice, including delayed cancer diagnosis. She has practiced with the firm since 2004.
Jordan previously served as an Appellate Court Attorney with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department.
